What To Expect

Injury To Total Health

Chiropractic care is like building a house – certain things have to happen in a particular order for everything to stand firm and work correctly. When creating a home, if you tried to put up your walls before you had a solid foundation, your walls would be weak and eventually collapse. If you decided to put on your roof before the walls were ready, you would run into the same problem. The same is true for your body. Your body has to go through a particular plan of care to repair itself correctly and thoroughly.

There are three general phases of chiropractic care:

Phase 1: Relief Care

If you are coming into the office with any pain or general discomfort, the first objective is to help you feel better. Depending on the severity of your problem and distress, we recommend that you come to visit two to three times per week for 4-12 weeks.

Phase 2: Corrective/Restorative Care

The second phase is the corrective care phase. We will work with your muscles and other tissues to assist with a complete heal, thereby helping prevent future injury. We typically recommend 4-8 visits per month for 6-24 months for this stage of care. The exact recommendation will depend on your overall health and the severity of your problem.

Phase 3: Wellness Care

The third phase starts once your body has fully healed. This phase is also essential because it helps avoid future problems. Usually, this only requires a quick visit to the chiropractor one to four times per month, based on your lifestyle and goals.
